Its been almost a month since my last post – wow how time flies …  I finished the book at last – I think getting it published and printed was almost harder than writing it :) and then decided to take a break and think through my next round of business objectives – but more about that in later posts.

So what have I learnt by writing a book? ….This is going to be dull – but the truth is its the same as everything if you want to do it well …
1. Be clear about your message – what have you got to offer – what is your service – clarity
2. Who would want to buy it ?
3. How are you going to communciate with them?

I was definitely clear what I wanted to share in my book ….  the strategies that I had been using to buy property when so many people around me said it couldn’t be done – I want as many people as possible to know that this is possible. I am always the same when I find I good thing I want to share and enable others to participate. I remember being at university and thoroughly enjoying the whole process of learning – so much that I became a university lecturer and spent a lot of time support students to become successful entrepreneurs :)

I hoped I knew who would want to buy it – people like you, friends, people reading my blogs and posts on forums, websites, Facebook and google groups. I was also surprised at how many strangers were contacting me – both through email and in person at events – which has made be recognised how honoured I am, how fortunate to attract so many really supportive people.

How I was going to communicate?  Well as normal – through all the usual social media channels. I also thought that as I firmly believe in recommending people other people would recommend me too. I have been really overwhelmed by the extra-ordinarily nice things that people have written or said to me …..

“As soon as I got the book I had to open it and start reading …. what have I learnt … the importance of focus ….”

“Vicki I ordered your book last week and it arrived yesterday. I started to read it at 10.30pm last night so wanted to message you to say a great big THANK you as I couldn’t put the book down. I found it to be written in a clear, premise, honest and easy to understand manner, so here’s a great big THANK YOU.
On a negative note I am blaming you for my baggy and puffy eyes this morning (which were noticed by work colleagues) I blame you for this because if the book had not of been so good, I would of turned the lights out at 11pm……he he he Once again Vicki many thanks for writing the book and for signing it for me.”

“I’ve just finished reading your book – Using Other People’s Money – How to Invest in Property. The book has so much content that I am going to read it again to make sure I didn’t miss out on any information. I found the book to be very informative and a must read for any novice or professional property investor. Good luck!”

“I can’t recommend it enough. I have now read it twice and still feel a third time is required – YES there is that much information! Each time I refer to the book, I take out of it, a new gold nugget of information.”
