Focusing on the negative

Posted by:

When we transferred from the beautiful and laid back Island of Koh Tao to the raw exploitation and commercialism of Koh Samui it was hard not to focus on the negative. The change so dramatic. The impact so harsh. The blatant selling of women in the bars to old European and Russian men shocking.

For all my positive thinking and understanding of how the mind works – I found myself focused on the negative – noticing the difference –

Can you be over focused?

Posted by:

I have often described myself as having OCD with a touch of ADHD in that I am very focused until I get distracted! It certainly does not come easily, which is possible why the distractions do come easily haahaa

Just recently I took possession of two new kittens – Mum 9 months called Minnie (because she is really a big mouse) and her baby 12 weeks called Mischief (who is actually more like Mayhem!!).

I dawned on me the other day Continue Reading →

How having a holiday can improve your business

How taking a holiday can help
I have asked this question before – are you struggling for ideas or dazzled by the opportunities that seem to be presenting themselves on every corner? I believe it is a really important question. If you are struggling for ideas – for clarity in your business or a way to increase your financial freedom – I believe that you will find it is because you are not spending enough time thinking about your business. ...

It’s three weeks since my last blog…

Posted by:

I must confess :)  I can’t believe how time has flown, it’s March, people, March! That means almost a third of the year has gone already! I was speaking with my mentor, Alan, the other day about feeling the “pressure” of so many opportunities and not having time enough to really pay attention to everything. I think on an unconscious level that set me thinking and as usual my unconscious provided the ...

Time to review ….

Posted by:

Phew… it’s the third week of November, only 20 days ’til I go diving again, and that started me thinking about everything I had done in this last year…what an amazing time full of opportunities. What have you been up to?   I have spent this year mixing with and becoming friends with some brilliant entrepreneurial investors and business people. I have attended training courses, networking events, and conferences. I have literally talked with and met thousands of people. I have ...

Batten down the hatches

Posted by:

Its all bad news again apparently… bad weather all over the weekend…pensions not going to sustain us in our old age… nights are drawing in and we all miss the sun…just over postal strikes but still facing BA Christmas strikes…its enough to make a sane person burst…all I see are opportunities and good news…

I love the sound of the wind – although I am not sure how we will do tonight after Bob put up netting to stop the birds ...

Avoiding the madding crowd

Posted by:

Today has been a wonderful and complete day – a mixture of personal development, great networking, amazing insights, deeper love for my family, and fireworks :) (well it is that time of year hee hee).

I started the day at Chris Howard Breakthrough to Success, it was brilliant to go back to the event and mix with amazing people … some old friends, crew mates and of course meet new people. As we ...

Belief vs Imagination

Posted by:

I woke up this morning with a profound thought … my life is made up or shaped by those things I believe … and my future will be all that I can imagine. I think that this realisation is the culmination of a week full of ‘messages’, thoughts and ideas. It is also all about choice.

Do you ever go to events – listen to speakers and then a few days later at another event a different speaker says the same ...

Happy Tuesday :)

Posted by:

Today Bob told everyone at work that it was Happy Tuesday, he put a sign on his door and waited….

What a reaction, people entered his office smiling, he explained that he wasn’t dealing with any problems today and some people just left!!! Best reaction of all was a cleaning team that came in (with a smile) explained that there were three particular things that weren’t working or needed dealing with (and listed them) but then said “… the good news is we ...

Then the text message came through ….

Posted by:

As I mentioned yesterday … I asked the caller to send a text message because I couldn’t hear. I was at the O2 Arena at the Andrew Reynolds Entrepreneur Boot Camp. I had just got back to my seat after a break. We had just finished listening to Chris Howard in the last set and where just about to listen to Tom Hau ….

Chris had taken us through a ‘closed eye exercise’, giving us the chance to think, to focus, ...
