What’s eating the roots of your business?

I spent all last weekend murdering Vine Weevil Grubs in my garden pots. Somehow over the last two and half years where I have been so busy either buying and building my property portfolio, or writing a book about how I used Other People’s Money or setting up a training business ….. I had forgotten about my garden and how much pleasure I got from it.

I suppose there are two clear messages for me – first about not forgetting the simple pleasures in life – like pootling around in your own garden and also if you don’t tend to your garden – the Vine Weevils will! Read More

Do you accept the opportunity you have been given?

What an amazing film – The Kings Speech – not just the acting of course but the story of a man, thrust into a world by virtue of his birth, finally recognising his opportunity to contribute and taking ownership of his future. In turn of course he affected the futures of all of us, both here and across the world.

Watching Colin Firth play the role of Bertie, the future King George IV, was agonising as he struggles with his speech impediment. All I could see was his courage, the battle with his pride and status, the acceptance of help, the acceptance of his responsibility.

5 hours in A&E, Tube Strike, what’s frustrating you?

Are you feeling frustrated?
Do you feel other people are holding you back – stopping you from having the success you deserve?

A few strange and thought provoking things have happened over the last 4 days…. from my daughter’s car accident (she is ok – just suffering whiplash and bruises – luck us :) ) with the following 5 hours in A & E …. to my friend Steve having to cancel his event because of the Tube Strike.

It made me realise more and more that we have to be responsible for our own futures – our own success. Let me explain … Read More

Better late than never :)

Snow AngelJanuary and February have been busy, brilliant and bursting with opportunities, networking, knowledge and deals … I have: coached three clients weekly, received 10 hours of coaching, spoken to- consulted with 6 sourcing clients and completed on one for an existing client, I am negotiating on 3 deals for clients and 3 deals for myself (including new redevelopment project :) ), bought three properties for myself, been to 8 networking events, spoken at 5 of them, been to 2 three day property course as supported and spoken, taken one two day course on lease options (brilliant!), and one one day course on social media been interviewed, refurb a client property, dealt with insurance claim for our home burglary, been to Liverpool for a total of 9 days, oh and a gala dinner and conference and still fit in one trip to our dive club, 3 photographic walks, 5 snow ball fights, 8 trips to the gym, only 10 sessions on the Wii, and booked a holiday :) woo hoo……
