What is your time worth?

Have you noticed how the same messages appear in your life over and over? I have been so busy this year – what a great experience so many opportunities from my book launch to speaking engagements, coaching clients, mentees and people wanting me to build their portfolios for them. Boys are more of a problem than girls

That was the announcement by my insurance company when I rang up to update them on the Mischief “She/he” saga. Boys are more of a problem than girls and so Mischief continues in his new reign of chaos and mayhem by costing me another £25 a year insurance!! Read the rest of this entry

Can you be over focused?

I have often described myself as having OCD with a touch of ADHD in that I am very focused until I get distracted! It certainly does not come easily, which is possible why the distractions do come easily haahaa

Just recently I took possession of two new kittens – Mum 9 months called Minnie (because she is really a big mouse) and her baby 12 weeks called Mischief (who is actually more like Mayhem!!).

I dawned on me the other day as I drove home from a property event that I had been speaking at that I was planning all the work I could catch up on. I wasn’t think about spending time with the kittens.

What is the point of being entrepreneurial, creating a passive income so that I don’t have to work and then filling my time to the exclusion of family and kittens?

It’s not the first time and obviously something I need to pay attention too – I nearly said focus on.

The trouble with focus is that it is a “one thing only” kind of action Focus on One Course Until Successful but what about the journey – enjoying the view – spending quality time.

It’s a difficult balance to strike. Some people only get the lesson when they become ill or worse family members become ill.

Who do you need to spend more quality time with – are you feeling balanced or “over focused”?

How hard can it be to get a tree?

I wanted a tree with a root this year. Surely it would hold its pine needles better, then I could plant it in the woods somewhere, afterwards.

3 B&Q, 2 Sainsburys, 1 Tesco and a garden centre later I surrendered and bought a tree that had been cut. It was dark, cold and not feeling much like Christmas by the time we finished. Six and half hours of my life had disappeared. Read the rest of this entry

Should I send Cards?

What is the etiquette these days? Should I send cards?

Last year I was feeling really bar humbug and didn’t send anyone cards except my immediate family. I posted a message on Facebook and sent a text to a few friends that was all. I broke the mould or pattern of hours of writing cards. Read the rest of this entry

A new way of thinking

About eight weeks ago I went to a Whole Mind Seminar with Tom Evans a great event that pushed my boundaries – always the best kind. I practised mediation and a new way of enabling my mind to think – together – in unison and for one purpose. Read the rest of this entry

Why is out sourcing so hard?

I am not even going to mention my VA by name this time as it’s becoming a plug-fest ….. why is it that when I can meet someone face to face and feel like I can trust them that the relationship works so much better? Read the rest of this entry

Mind the scissors

I am very blessed with a mop of naturally curly hair and like all things in life it comes with its own challenges. The curls are springy until they reach a certain length. At this point the weight of the “hanging” hair applies enough drag that the tension in the curl gives and the hair straightens ever so slightly. Read the rest of this entry

Friends and money don’t mix

I keep bumping into this issue. Last night I couldn’t sleep for these thoughts rattling around in my head. I even got up and made a note on paper, so I could remember to think about it this morning rather than stay awake (that finally worked and I did sleep!)

So the issue – I firmly believe in working with a coach or two. Read the rest of this entry

Working with others – any advice?

I have recently braved the scary new world of outsourcing. I have to say at this point in praise of Hannah Liversidge – she has made the whole process much or bearable, efficient, painless and productive. This blog isn’t about Hannah though.

I realise it’s about working relationships and I am not sure if I have realised something new or I am just slow and this is something everyone else has known for ages. Read the rest of this entry
