What a great start to my new routine …. I planned to get up at 6.30am and have a work out then shower, breakfast and start the first day of my New year for 9.00am …… well that was the plan … determination, persistence and adaptibility got me through til 10.15am then it all went haywire :)

I couldn’t find the Wii Fit disc I wanted and ended up playing another game – what a hoot! As I soaked in the bath I realised that the year had already started with determination, persistence and adaptability. I was determined I was going to exercise and not waste my early start, I persisted when i could not get what I wanted and eventually found a replacement and alternative, lastly by being adaptable I had a great time and a great mini work out, but more importantly i did something – I kept going. Sound advice I thought – something I shall adopt over the coming months.

It can be quite a challenge at this time of year … do we look hopefully (and blindly) towards a bright new future, or look pessimisstically towards another year of redundancy, repossession, limited bank finance etc etc. Do we set goals we are never going to keep? How do we keep going when it is so easy to give up? What has really helped me achieve my goals in 2009 is knowing why I am striving for them, why I want to acheive them? Some one wise said that when the ‘Why’ is big enough the ‘How’ will follow. I would take that one step further and say
When the ‘Why’ is clear enough, so is the sign post labelled ‘How’.

When I get to December 2010, and I look back over this year, whether it is going to be an easy year or a challenging 2010 – however the coming 12 months turns out for me … I am planning to ‘look back’ knowing that I did my very best, I set goals that I was determined to achieve, persisted at through every obstacle and challenge and where necessary I was adaptable and flexible on my journey to success :)

Wishing you every success in 2010 – this is going to be a great year for achieving anything you set you mind to
