Networking, not-working, blogging and Car-karaoke?!
I remember when I first joined Ecademy, I was terrified of falling victim to ‘not-working’ because of all the time I might spend ‘net-working’. So I rationed my time online! (Ahh! giving away too much about myself – ‘control-freak!’ – well maybe, but its ok I am taking therapy
). Then I discovered blogging! For someone who loves to talk, including to herself or anyone who will listen, yet works alone from home a lot of the time blogging is the perfect solution! Talking through the computer. My mind is so uncluttered these days – it may not seem like it to you if you have read some of my blogs!! However, I assure you that the voices are a lot quieter now I am free to blog. Long gone is the fear of not working
What’s the point?!! Well alongside the diving, photography, travelling and cycling (not all at the same time!) I have a hobby that we can all share in and I would love to hear of your experiences…
Car-karaoke! It’s a bit like singing in the shower or the bath but offers greater privacy, the opportunity to reach phenomenal volumes (which clearly improves the quality of
MY voice!) and does annoy the family or neighbours (or is that me again ?
)
Anyway next time you are driving, turn up the volume (change channels if you’re listening to Radio 4!) and then just let rip, enjoy the startled faces of passers-by and fellow drivers as they struggle to work out what you are doing….
CAUTION – do not be tempted to accelerate while singing – as that path leads to 3 penalty points!! Especially on the Surrey stretch of the M25 between Gatwick and Staines!
If I get enough interest I might start a club and we can share favourite songs or synchronise singing on the journey to work (bound to cheer us up) – we could all tune into Virgin radio (or Absolute as it’s called now) at 7.43am and just sing??? well just a thought… let me know
To our mutual success, wealth and happiness

Hi Cemanthe I know I am adventureous – cycling singing and photos … okay. Singing and diving and photography already acheived haa haa all four hmmmh give me a couples of months and I will report back after my next trip
I like the sound of that Cemanthe! Now that’s a sport I can really dig my teeth into
I do enjoy how personal your Tympano blogs are, we all have to be able to relate to each other and this is a great way to show our personal beliefs, values and ideas as well as sharing knowledge too.
Hahaha quirky blog post Vicki… but loved it.. made me chuckle! Had some business ideas too… why not combine cycling, singing, photography and diving? Could be a new adventure sport
I’ve also found the same realease or outlet for my thoughts now that I’m blogging. Definitely helps to get them out there.
Thank you ladies, great to hear I am not alone in the loud singing in the car!
Blogging is something I truly enjoy and am so glad to have found it, I also hope my readers get something from it too
Hi Vicki!
It seems you and I have a lot in common! I too find blogging helps clear my head, and it allows me to fully explore a subject so I know exactly what I think and feel about it by the end. It’s also very useful for my customers as they have a tonne of free info they can refer back to when I am not available!
And yes, I sing in the car too – very loudly! I’ve had more than a couple of funny looks but who cares – I’m happy!!
Happy singing (and blogging!)
Hi Vicki,
We are obviously meant to be friends! I love singing in the car (when I have the chance to drive one!) and in the shower too but I get a howling dog
Looking forward to having a “car-karaoke” meet up if there’s enough of us, is it ok to do it on a Motorbike too?
