Sales – how do your customers get to engage with you

Posted by:

My first thought on this topic is pure and simple; email, phone, Facebook, text or Twitter. Where do you customers hang out and can they get hold of you if they need to? Can they get hold of you in their preferred method?

I wanted to speak to my website guy about a mess I made when updating ThePropertyMemaid.com website (you should never let a Digital Muppet near technology), and I could not find his ...

Is there a glass ceiling for women?

Posted by:

I am not sure this is even the right question to be honest – but let’s stay with this at the moment. Media reports and research do prove that there are less women in senior positions in board rooms and corporations. They earn less and don’t get (seemingly) the same opportunities to rise.

There are facts here that make this an obvious conclusion, first many women will take a career break to have children and so that often Continue Reading →

Are you feeling squashed

Posted by:

I often write blogs about the importance of focus and spending time “well”, either through planning or simply being present in the moment. Part of the process of expanding my thinking on this topic is how I “spend” my time. I have always been very keen to “spend” my time on the things I enjoyed and want to do. That is in part what drove me to set up my own businesses and invest in property as a way to ...

Eating next to a fox

Posted by:

I wrote about my kitten Mischief before. He is huge now and still not a year old. So big, especially next to his mum, that I have been monitoring his food. His is almost well trained and while he definitely gobbles his food, I can tell him “no” and he just sits staring at his mother while see daintily picks her way through her food.

My neighbour saw me in the garden and came over to tell ...

Are you awake? Or asleep without realising it?

Posted by:

This is another blog prompted by a great book written by Tom Evans called This we know. In one of the chapters Tom points out that of the 7 billion people on the planet about 2 billion people are asleep at any one time.

Of those of you that are awake one billion more are on the internet (maybe like you reading a blog or watching a video), another billion are Continue Reading →

You are one of 7 billion people

What makes you special? How are you living your life? What are you focused on: the journey or the destination?

These are the meaning of life type of questions. How you answer says so much – not that any answer is right or wrong – each has its own merits and meaning to you personally.

I have just read a brilliant book by Tom Evans called This We Know it’s questions, concepts, suggestions and ponderings still settling in my own head ...

Demotivating your staff – to save money

Posted by:

I was speaking with a client the other day and they were talking about their job. They had just been through a performance review interview with their manager. The purpose is to discuss how they are doing at work whether they are meeting their targets and whether they have any challenges (or the manager with them).

The conversation had been extremely positive – in fact they had “exceeded” all the targets they had been set and more.

There is another purpose to ...

What does he know?

Posted by:

I saw this brilliant video on Facebook on Saturday. I don’t normally watch cute videos and funny pets as it is so easy to waste time. However can I recommend you give yourself permission to laugh for just four minutes and then think about this question?

What does he know that you don’t know?

Is a Jelly brain dead?

Posted by:

I love watching QI with Stephen Fry – it’s how I wish school had been; fun and informative …but that might be another blog haa haa

We watched QI the other evening and they came up with the “fact” that scientists had been running tests on jelly and actually it had the same electrical current and pattern as the human brain.

While there is a scientific debate about what constitutes brain dead if a jelly can be “proven” to be “alive” – ...

Is Vettel failing his sponsors?

Posted by:

I have to say I am starting to love Formula 1 Grand Prix – I know I wrote a blog about watching on high speed thanks to Sky Digital fast forward button, but I hardly ever do that now. There have been some really exciting races this year with different drivers reaching that coveted podium place.

Then since we ...
